Congratulations to all of the Pendleton All Star Players and Teams for a great 2023 District 3 Tournament, and especially to the Pilot Rock/Pendleton Combined Juniors Softball District 3 Champs.
The PR/PLL Juniors Softball Team needs our help to get to State and are doing a car wash on Friday, June 30, from 10 am to 1 pm at Dave's Chevron (Pendleton) and on Saturday, July 1, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Pilot Rock Market. Donations are accepted and appreciated. Please contact Coach Dan Deist for more information at 541-310-1954 or dc_deist@yaoo.com.
Greetings,
Thank you for all those that emailed about 2023 Sandlot. We are beginning next Wednesday (July 5) with Rookies going from 6pm-7pm and Baseball & Softball going from 7pm-9pm.
Those that have emailed pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com and asked to participate have all been sent an email tonight and should now see the "Sandlot 2023 (All)" team in their SportsEngine app. That will be how we communicate and have players and volunteers RSVP for the Wednesday Sandlot session they plan to attend.
If your child would like to participate in 2023 Sandlot but haven't emailed us already, or if you would like to volunteer to help, it is not too late. Email us at pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the park.
Thanks,
Pendleton Little League Board
For youths and their families looking for athletic camps, Eastern Oregon University has quite a few scheduled through the rest of this year. Go to https://eousports.com/sports/2021/5/17/camps-and-clinics.aspx for more information.
Even though the 2023 PLL Season has come to an end, some continue playing through All Stars or Travel Clubs, while others may still want to play and not have the opportunity.
For those, Pendleton Little League will be starting up Sandlot Fun Days (https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/sandlot-fun-days/) beginning in July. This will be no cost to those that registered for the 2023 Pendleton Little League Season. It will be one evening during the week where the players can come to the Pendleton Little League Park and play pickup games. We will be doing this for baseball, but if there is enough interest, we may also be able to do it for softball and rookies, as well.
If your family is interested in Sandlot Fun Days, please email pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com. Include in the email the names of your player(s), and which sport (baseball, softball, or rookie). If you are interested in helping with Sandlot Fun Days, just include that in your email as well.
Additionally, if there are any siblings or friends that did not play this year, but are interested in playing next spring, they are welcome to participate in Sandlot Fun Days at no cost. Contact the email above for details on how to register.
Once we know who is interested, we will add you to a "Summer Sandlot" team in the SportsEngine app, where we will provide you more information and dates.
If we don't see you at the park, have a great summer and thank you for making our 2023 season possible.

Then come and be a member of our Pendleton Little League Board Elections, Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Tower Two (behind home plate of Field 2, Pendleton Little League Park). To support our PLL 11u Baseball All Stars by buying a ticket, or more, contact an 11u Baseball player family. See the post below for the 11u roster.
Pendleton Little League Families and Players,
Thank you for the great turn out for this year’s All-Star teams. It was awesome to see the kids ready to dedicate their time to Pendleton Baseball and have an opportunity to represent their hometown.
After careful deliberation and feedback from coaches of all teams, Pendleton will be represented by three teams this year. Baseball will have an 11u and a 10u team, while softball will be represented by a 10u team.
As for 12u Baseball, we are excited to announce Pendleton Little League will be combining with Triangle Little League to form a 12u All-Stars team under Triangle’s Banner. This is a fantastic opportunity for all the kids as well as a great way to support both Pendleton and Triangle Little League. We would like to congratulate our 12u All-Stars.
Congratulations to the players who made All-Stars this year.

Greetings Little League Parents,
The Tri-Cities Dust Devils (LA Angels High-A affiliate) are offering a youth clinic and game ticket special Sunday, May 21st. For $10-$13 per ticket, the kids get ~2 hrs of on field instruction by Dust Devil players and entry to the game after the clinic concludes. Family members and friends also attending the game can get tickets for the same price. A ticket is required for each person entering the stadium.
Registration for the clinic starts at 10:00 am, the clinic concludes following an autograph session at 12:30 pm, and then game starts at 1:30 pm. Kids should bring a bat, mitt, water, and something for the players to sign. The kids will run through various stations working with professional baseball players on skills such as batting, throwing, catching and fielding.
$2 of every ticket purchased will be donated to Pendleton Little League. Tickets can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the flyer or clicking the link below and entering “PLL23” as the group password.
The Dust Devils office can be reached at 509-544-8789 for additional questions.
Hello, 2023 Pendleton Little League Families and Players,
While it feels like softball/baseball just started, Little League All-Stars are just around the corner. We are writing this email to communicate the timeline for All-Stars as well as some forms that need to be filled out if your child is interested in being up for consideration this coming summer.
You will find the 2023 Player & Parent All-STAR Team Commitment Form and the 2023 ALL-STAR MANAGER & COACH APPLICATION these forms on the PLL website at https://www.pendletonlittleleague.com/page/show/3837161-forms-and-local-rules.
Pendleton LL is excited to increase participation in All-Stars this year with hopes of being able to fill all 12u,11u and 10u All-Star teams in both baseball and softball in the future. But, with All-Stars does come a lot of commitment from both families and players. This years District 3 tournament is being held in Hermiston, Oregon from June 23rd-30th. With teams winning at this district tournament moving onto next steps that could take them all the way to Williamsport for the Little League World Series. Families must realize depending on the success of the team this commitment could last into late July and early August. Below is summary of what this commitment looks like.
Personal/Family Commitment – Each player must be willing to commit completely to the All-Star team and the schedule set forth by the Manager and tournament officials. This may mean committing the bulk of the summer months, (especially for the 10/11/12 Majors Divisions). The player is required to attend every practice and game and will not be excused without a valid reason. Unexcused absences, as determined by the Manager, may be penalized up to, and including, removal from the All-Star team. The Manager of the All-Star team will make the final determination.
The first step in the All-Stars process is completing the attached forms so your child can be eligible for the selection process. This form must be submitted no later than Sunday May 14th for a player or coach to be eligible for the upcoming All-Star season. Please email completed form to pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com.
Pendleton Little League is extremely excited for this upcoming All-Stars season. Hopefully most questions can be answered by reading through the attached documents. Any further questions please email pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com and our All-Star & Accolade Promoter/Coordinator Drew Van Cleave will reach out to answer these questions.
Thanks to everyone for a great start to the 2023 Little League Season, looking forward to seeing all the applicants for Pendleton All-Stars.

We hope everyone can come!
Hello, 2023 Pendleton Little League Families and Players,
DUE TO WEATHER, MONDAY AND TUESDAY WILL BE INDOORS AT THE PENDLETON CONVENTION CENTER (1601 Westgate Pl, Pendleton, OR 97801). Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and starting Wednesday we can have the tryouts at the Pendleton Little League Park (1927 SE Byers Ave, Pendleton, OR 97801).
Check in will begin each day at 5-5:30, and the tryouts for that day will start at 5:30 pm and run no later than 7:30. The schedule for tryouts is included below:
Monday Feb 27th-Minors Baseball and Softball (Convention Center)
Tuesday Feb 28th-Majors baseball and Softball (Convention Center)
CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER- Wednesday March 1st-Minors Baseball and Softball (PLL Park)
Thursday March 2nd-Majors Baseball and Softball (PLL Park)
Monday March 6th-Majors & Minors Baseball and Softball (PLL Park)
For those wondering which tryout their child should go to, it will depend on their league age. If you are not sure of your child's league age, go to https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/. Majors tends to be for our older players (league age 11-12 years) and Minors tends to be for our younger players (league age 9-10). During the two weeks of tryouts, we may move players based upon their experience and skill level. The goal is to have players playing with other players of similar skill level as possible.
If your child is younger (league age 8 or younger), they would generally be in our Rookies Division. We won't be having tryouts for Rookies. However, if you or your child is interested in trying out for Minors, please email your request to pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com.
As for Juniors Softball, we will be getting in contact with you separately about when tryouts/practices will start.
If there are kids that have not registered and would like to, the deadline for registration is this Friday, February 24. Remember, there are scholarship opportunities for kids and families that qualify, just email us to find out.
If you have any questions, please email us. We look forward to seeing everyone next week.

Families and Friends,
A couple quick notices and reminders about our upcoming 2023 Pendleton Little League season:
-Your 2023 Pendleton Little League Board
Friends,
With 2023 arriving, that means baseball and softball are just right around the corner. Some heads up about the upcoming 2023 Pendleton Little League season:
1. REGISTRATION: Registration for the 2023 Pendleton Little League is already open, and you can register online at https://pendletonlittleleague.sportngin.com/register/form/751642526.
2. TRYOUTS: Tryouts this year will be over a two-week period, starting February 27 (UPDATED 2/6/23) and running through March 10.
3. DIVISIONS OF PLAY: While suggested ages for divisions are given below, it is also important to make sure each division matches up players of as similar skill and experience as possible. We will use the two-week tryout to help with this, and if you feel your child would fit better in a higher or lower level, let us know when you register (which now asks for experience and skill level info) or email us at pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com:
4. SEASON: Opening day will be Saturday, April 8, and the season will end by June 3. We will try to schedule games for majors and minors on Monday-Thursday, only, in case there are players and families that would like to also play on travel ball teams on the weekends.
5. ALL STARS/DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: For those minors and majors players and coaches wanting to be a part of the Pendleton Little League All Star teams playing at the Oregon District 3 Little League Tournament at the end of June, you can fill out the applications available at https://pendletonlittleleague.sportngin.com/page/show/3837161-forms. The teams will be selected by the Pendleton Little League Board in May based upon the 2023 season, including input from our coaches.
We look forward to this coming season. If you have any interest in helping our kids and families having an experience to remember, then fill out a volunteer application (also available at https://pendletonlittleleague.sportngin.com/page/show/3837161-forms) and email it to pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com. We need volunteers not only to coach, but also to umpire and help maintain the fields and grounds. No specific training and skills are required, just love for our kids and the game. If you would like to umpire, you can find out more information from our 2023 Umpire Recruitment letter here.
It takes a community to make a season happen. We cannot do this without you.

Through summer 2022 until August 11, 2022, Thursdays are Sandlot Fun Days, and they are living up to their name.
With the Summer heat hitting town, starting July 14 we are going to have Sandlot Fun Days at the following times:
Like a pickup game in any sport, it all starts with showing up. There are no coaches or organized teams, just players. We will have volunteers to supervise and to provide equipment.
Every Sandlot Thursday will be its own party, and every party is about having fun and just playing. Could be full games, could be games like Tiger ball (games setup to be played with less than 9 players a team), or could even be other games (Golden Glove, Home Run Derby, etc). With three fields (Fields 2-4), we can have up to three different types of games going, depending on how many and who show up.
No Little League party would be complete without the Snack Shack. Thanks to Sue Quinn and her crew, the Snack Shack will be open for fueling and refreshing players, volunteers, and spectators during Sandlot Fun Days.
For families that haven’t already, you can email pendletonlittleleague@gmail.com for more information for kids and parents interested in playing or volunteering for Sandlot Thursdays. Those that have already signed up, make sure you have downloaded the SportsEngine app (available in both Apple and Google Stores) as that is how you can receive the most updated information and updates.
Thank you to everyone that responded and let’s get this party started.

Please come and support your 10-11-12 yoa Baseball All-Star team as they head to the Little League District 3 Tournament held June 25-30 in Burns, OR! This will be held at our Pendleton Little League Park from 5:30-7:30pm, Friday, June 17th:
10-11-12 BASEBALL:
To all the friends, families, and supporters of Pendleton Little League,
They say every cloud has a silver lining, and thanks to the Wildhorse Foundation we know it to be true.
As many are aware, the Pendleton Little League Park has four fields, each with its own outdoor lighting to allow games to be played at night. These light fixtures and bulbs are at least a decade old, if not much older. Unfortunately, over time the lighting system has deteriorated as bulbs have dimmed or burned out and fixtures have broken. This last fall, one of our infamous local windstorms knocked down the right field lights to one of our baseball fields. Unfortunately, it has gotten to the point where maintaining the old light system no longer makes sense and new light fixtures are needed. Without the new fixtures, we would be in a position of having to determine whether we could continue to play night games on some, if not all of our fields.
However, the Wildhorse Foundation has awarded to Pendleton Little League a $20,000 grant to make these new light fixtures a reality. The grant will pay for almost all the cost and allow installation of newer, brighter, and more cost efficient light fixtures for all fields. These new light fixtures are starting to be installed by Gordon's Electric (Pendleton, Oregon) and will be installed and ready by our 2022 Opening Day on April 2.
A sincere thank you to Wildhorse Foundation for its support of not only Pendleton Little League, but also for all of its efforts to support our community and families.
Sincerely,
Pendleton Foundation Trust!!!
Pendleton Little League would like to take a break from all things Covid to Thank Tom Kligel for his tireless efforts not only in keeping the park clean and weed free but for his foot work on getting the Pendleton Foundation Trust Grant for 13,700.00 to pave from the snack shack to the batting cages on field two.
Thank you Pendleton Foundation Trust for awarding PLL with this amazing park imporvement grant. The park is now ADA compliant in all field areas.
*This grant was awarded before the Covid season and cancellation of 2020.
