Dear Pendleton Little League Families and Supporters,
In the interest of our children, families, and community, now more than ever we need a reason to play and cheer. To those that want to register but have not been able to, there is still time as we have extended registration until Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
We will be having a Field Cleanup and In-Person Registration Day at the Pendleton Little League Park from 12 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2021. We cannot begin the season until the park is ready, and we need help, whether you come for an hour or the entire four hours. Little League Board Members will also be available that day to assist anyone needing help registering for the 2021 season. Simply come to the Pendleton Little League Complex back parking lot (nearest the Umatilla River and Riverwalk) and bring a credit or debit card, and a Pendleton Little League Board member can assist you. Cash payments cannot be accepted.
Having baseball and softball seasons this year will come with increased responsibility for everyone due to COVID-19. We will not tolerate any behavior or actions in violation of current laws and regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Our 2021 Safety Plan and 2021 Local Rules (with COVID-19 Rules) can be found at https://www.pendletonlittleleague.com/page/show/4115470-local-playing-rules. Face masks and social distancing are required for everyone, and there will be restrictions on how many people may enter the Pendleton Little League Park to attend Little League practices or games.
As you can see, having baseball and softball seasons this year will be no small task. We need to purchase supplies, including wipes, disinfectants, disposable face masks, and thermometers, in addition to the supplies needed for a regular season. Those interested in making donations or being a sponsor can do so or get more information by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or going to pendletonlittleleague.com.
To ensure compliance with COVID-19 regulations, we will only be able to have three divisions (Majors, AAA, AA) in softball and baseball this year. AA will be machine pitch, AAA will be a combination of machine and kid pitch, and Majors will be entirely kid pitch. To register for Pendleton Little League baseball or softball this year, a player has to be at least 7 years of age and be able to safely play in at least one of those divisions, which usually means having some form of prior baseball or softball experience.
Weather permitting, we will be holding tryouts on Saturday, March 6. More information about tryouts can be found at https://www.pendletonlittleleague.com/page/show/3811513-news.
We anticipate starting practices as early as March 15th and the season April 6th. For those that do not qualify for AA, AAA, or Majors and want to play, the City of Pendleton Parks and Recreation Department will be offering T-ball this year.
Let's play some ball and bring the fun back.
